The mark of a great trainer is someone who combines a wealth of experience with a passion for the job. For Ben Tuia, fitness is more than a career, it’s a passion.

A Bay Area native, Ben has been playing sports ever since he can remember. In high school, he played football for San Leandro High and later went on to play for Laney College. Although he stopped playing football, his love for fitness remained a big part of his everyday life and he continued training and playing sports recreationally.

When the time came to choose a career, Ben knew his calling was in fitness and athletics. He began studying to get his National Academy of Sports Medicine Basic Personal Training Certification. He then went back for more training and earned his advanced specialization as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES).

Ben has nine years experience working with people to achieve their goals. These include helping people lose weight, gain muscle, train for marathons, increase energy, and fight diseases including diabetes and high blood pressure. His favorite part of the job, working with his clients: “I love meeting new people, teaching them how to live differently and helping them achieve their goals,” he said.

This love for working with clients gives him a unique philosophy on training, which ultimately sets him apart from others. He works with clients as individuals and tailors each session to meet their individual needs and goals. There is no such thing as a cookie cutter session and his flexibility helps his clients meet their goals and then some.

His hobbies are closely related to his work and Ben enjoys working out and playing sports in his free time. Ben also spends time with his wife Ericka and three children: Cristian (11), Kian (8), and Alei (5).

Ben’s nine-years of experience and drive to succeed make him an expert in personal training and fitness. His passion for the business and unique philosophy sets him apart from others and makes him a fun and motivating trainer to work with.
